Help for girls in need

Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa. The gap between rich and poor is growing ever wider: Poverty, unemployment, and crime dominate the daily lives of many families. Girls, in particular, often lose hope of a life free of abuse, violence and a lack of perspective. Johannesburg is considered the country’s city of street children.

“The House Group” project provides a safe and secure home for vulnerable, abandoned and abused girls between the ages of 12 and 18 in Johannesburg. They receive care and attention as well as the education and support they need to one day lead independent lives. The staff provide stability and security in a well-balanced and loving home environment. This empowers the girls and allows them to make more informed and responsible choices and lead more fulfilling lives.

The Lipoid Stiftung has supported the home with regular grants since 2018.
